Spring is the season of fresh starts. The light shifts, the days stretch out, and suddenly our homes feel ready for a change. At Floorworld Bayside, we believe every great room starts from the ground up. Your floor is the largest surface in any space. It sets the mood, anchors your colour choices, and quietly shapes how a room feels every day.
To celebrate the season, our team created two spring-inspired mood boards. Each is built around a different flooring style, and each shows a different side of spring. One is vibrant and full of personality. The other is soft, light and understated. Both show how a well-chosen floor can bring an entire design scheme together.
Warm oak, fresh greens and bold pops of colour
Our first concept is for anyone who loves colour but wants a home that still feels grounded and calm. At its heart is Mink Grey from Grand Oak Flooring’s Noble Collection, a European oak floor with real character.
Mink Grey is wire brushed, a finishing technique that gently lifts the softer grain of the timber. That leaves a subtle, tactile texture you can see and feel underfoot. It also helps disguise the small marks of everyday family life. A UV lacquered matte finish keeps the look natural rather than glossy, so the oak reads as warm and authentic.
What really sets this floor apart is the board length. Every board is full length, measuring 1900mm x 190mm x 14.5mm. Longer boards mean fewer joins and a cleaner, more continuous grain across the room. That makes spaces feel larger and more relaxed. If you love a classic pattern, Mink Grey is also available in chevron and herringbone.
With a warm oak base in place, we layered a spring palette with plenty of personality. Sage green sets a fresh, earthy tone that feels right for the season, whether on walls, joinery or cabinetry. We paired it with a soft putty grey and crisp white to keep things balanced and light.
Then come the accents. A punch of mustard yellow brings instant energy, like the first sunny days of September. Burnished rust and copper tones add warmth and depth. A travertine-look stone surface introduces natural texture, ideal for a bathroom vanity, kitchen splashback or feature tile. Expressive, colourful artwork brings the whole scheme to life.
A chunky loop-pile carpet in warm, flecked neutrals softens the look. It works well in bedrooms, a home office or a cosy reading nook where comfort matters most. Combining timber in living areas with carpet in private spaces is a smart way to get both durability and warmth across the home.
This is a space that feels lived-in and joyful rather than over-styled. The oak does the quiet work in the background, and the colour tells the story. It’s a look that suits growing families, creative households and anyone who wants their home to feel full of life.
Blush, linen and warm timber tones in a timeless herringbone
Our second concept shows the gentler side of spring. Think morning light through sheer curtains, fresh flowers on the table, and a calm, restful home. The foundation here is Olympus Parquet in 170 Pandora from Godfrey Hirst, laid in a classic herringbone.
Herringbone has been a favourite in beautiful homes for centuries, and it’s easy to see why. The pattern adds movement, structure and a sense of craftsmanship to any room. Olympus Parquet captures that look in a vinyl plank. Each plank measures 590mm x 118mm x 2.5mm, sized specifically for parquetry patterns.
Vinyl is a great choice for busy households. It’s easy to clean, comfortable underfoot and designed for everyday living. That makes it well suited to open-plan living areas, kitchens and high-traffic zones. You get the elegance of traditional parquetry without the upkeep.
The palette here is all about softness and texture. Shimmering silver linen makes a beautiful sheer curtain, catching the light and bouncing it around the room. A dusty blush fabric adds warmth, perfect for cushions, an occasional chair or a feature upholstery piece.
Fluted timber panelling brings depth and an architectural touch. It could be a feature wall, a bedhead or a kitchen island front. A speckled terrazzo-look surface keeps things bright and playful. Pale timber tones tie the scheme together. Delicate gold details and fresh botanicals, like a single white orchid, add a final layer of quiet elegance.
A textured bobble-loop carpet in warm oatmeal is the finishing touch. Its chunky, sculptural weave is as inviting to touch as it is to look at, making it perfect for a master bedroom or a relaxed family retreat.
This concept creates a relaxed, light-filled home with a touch of sophistication. The herringbone floor provides structure and character, while the soft palette keeps every room welcoming and calm.
Whether you’re drawn to bold contrast or soft neutrals, the lesson is the same: start with the floor. Choose your flooring first, then build your colours, textures and furnishings around it. It’s the most effective way to create a home that feels cohesive and considered.

“Turning your ideas into a reality you can live in every day. Think it’s impossible? Talk to me. I believe every space has the potential to become something beautiful, functional, and uniquely yours.”
Interior design, for me, is about more than creating beautiful spaces. It is about transforming ideas, aspirations, and lifestyles into environments that feel authentic, functional, and uniquely yours. My passion for design stems from a love of creativity, problem-solving, and thoughtful aesthetics, allowing me to create spaces that are as practical as they are beautiful.
I believe every project should reflect the people who use it. Whether designing a family home, a commercial space, or a renovation, my goal is to create interiors that enhance everyday living while leaving a lasting impression.
I am particularly inspired by design trends that blend style and purpose, including sustainable materials, seamless indoor-outdoor living, organic curved forms, rich colour palettes, and textured finishes that bring depth and character to a space. While I appreciate emerging trends, I always strive to balance them with timeless design principles to ensure every interior remains relevant for years to come.
My preferred palette often includes earthy tones, soft neutrals, and carefully selected statement colours. These combinations create spaces that feel warm, sophisticated, and inviting while allowing individual personalities to shine through.
A successful design journey begins with understanding my clients. Open communication, collaboration, and trust are at the heart of my approach. By taking the time to understand your vision, lifestyle, and budget, I can create a design solution that not only meets your expectations but exceeds them.
With a strong appreciation for flooring and interior finishes, I see flooring as the foundation of great design. The right flooring can define spaces, improve functionality, add warmth, and texture, and elevate the overall aesthetic of an interior. Every material, colour, and finish is carefully selected to contribute to a cohesive and harmonious design story.
“My passion lies in helping clients transform their spaces into places they truly love to live, work, and connect in. Through thoughtful design, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating interiors that are both beautiful and practical, I am dedicated to bringing your vision to life.”
