Solution-dyed polyester carpet has colour mixed into the fibre during manufacturing, rather than applied to the surface of the finished product. This gives it significantly better resistance to fading from sunlight and bleaching from cleaning products compared to standard piece-dyed polyester. For rooms with strong natural light, or where the carpet might be cleaned more frequently, solution-dyed polyester is worth the small additional cost. It is a better long-term investment than standard polyester at a similar price point.
