Care & Maintenance

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit and abrasive particles. Wipe spills immediately with a lightly damp cloth — do not allow water to pool. Use only manufacturer-approved timber floor cleaners; avoid steam mops, harsh chemicals and excessive moisture. Protect furniture legs with felt pads and use door mats at entry points. For deeper cleaning, use Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner diluted to the recommended ratio — never use a soaking-wet mop on engineered timber flooring.

FAQs

Why choose engineered oak timber flooring?

Amato’s oak finishes combine the natural warmth of real oak with the dimensional stability of engineered timber construction. This makes it suitable for Australian homes where seasonal humidity and temperature changes can affect solid timber floors.

Can Amato be sanded and refinished, and how thick is the wear layer?

Amato is an engineered timber floor with a 2.5mm wear layer. The wear layer is the real wood surface you walk on — it determines how many times the floor can be sanded and refinished. Speak with your Floorworld consultant to confirm refinishing options for this product. Suitable for moderate–heavy residential (2.5mm wear layer) use.

What does installation involve for Amato?

Engineered timber — floating or glue-down installation. Subfloor must be flat (±3mm over 1. Speak with your Floorworld consultant for a subfloor assessment and product-specific installation advice.

How do I care for and maintain Amato?

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit and abrasive particles. Wipe spills immediately with a lightly damp cloth — do not allow water to pool.

Is Amato a good choice for allergy or asthma sufferers?

Amato is a practical choice for allergy-conscious homes. Hard floor surfaces do not trap the dust mites and allergens that accumulate in carpet pile. It is moisture-resistant, making it easy to clean and sanitise thoroughly. Ask your Floorworld consultant about VOC certifications for this product.
